佛曰：欲知前生事，今生受者是。欲知来生事，今生编剧是。欲知生先知死。懂得了死，人才能活得明白。人生在世总有很多疑惑，因为未知，所以恐惧。要消除恐惧，必须找到自己的信仰。 在本剧中，南师逆向讲解了由死到生的整个过程。生死是人生两件大事，但是，人们往往乐谈生，而讳谈死。南师以科学的视角，浅易通俗的语言，配上身边人的实例告诉人们，死亡并不可怕，因为一切事物都是“方生方死，方死方生”，这是宇宙万物的普遍规律。然而，人与人的死亡又有不同，所以人们应当树立正确的生死观，在了知“死”之必然后，以更加健康积极的心态活着。 番外部分可能是个人领悟能力有限，感觉还是比较晦涩难懂，初读建议可以跳过。
