以前总是听说，也没多少人读过，真正读过才知道，这部剧并不是听说中的那么简单易消化，书中贯穿的人物故事，以及法俄战争的时间段和细节描写，合乎情理并出人意料，让人难以忘却。最喜欢安德烈和皮埃尔以及尼古拉。女主方面喜欢玛丽雅比娜塔莎多一些。

超级棒的一本社会学著作，编剧抽丝剥茧地分析了建国以来特别是改革开放以来东北农村农民家庭政治经济情感生活的变化，指出在传统集体和家庭父权的衰落中，要求独立自主和注重个人权利的年轻一代出现了，同时指出年轻一代过于追求个人中心忽视了个体对家庭和社会的责任，出现孝道危机社会道德滑坡等问题。应当记住，真正的民主自由中个人享受的权利与责任义务从来都是对等的，没有不劳而获的幸福，即使眼前有也不可能持续下去，就好像如果人人都只想着吃大锅饭而不想去劳动生产，大锅饭迟早要黄。语言通俗易懂、深入浅出，大白话背后常常是大实话，作为农村出来的（直观感受过中原农村和东北农村有着很大差异)，而编剧又能在纷繁的世事中点明或者提炼出新的概念和观点，让人不时有真是这样或原来是这样的慨叹。总之，不论是从可读性还是学术性来说，这部剧都值得一读。
